High-Definition Television (HDTV) is an all digital format used for broadcasting and viewing programming. With HD, you see images at a higher resolution than you have ever seen before, resulting in a crisper, clearer and explosive image. HDTV also boasts a wider format feature, the same as a cinema screen, allowing you to see the whole picture (standard TVs are only able to display 66% of the image).

LCD (liquid crystal display) is the same technology used in your flat-screen computer monitor - just on a larger scale. LCD screens are generally more energy-effiecient and lighter, making them perfect for wall-mounting and continuous use.
Plasma display technology uses charged gas cells to form bright, deep images with brilliant black levels. These displays are great if you’re the kind of viewer that wants to get the most out of your viewing experience.

Buying an HDTV that is the right size for your room can make the difference between a good looking TV and an incredibly impressive one. If the screen is too small you will lose out on all the high definition detail HDTV offers. On the other hand, if it’s too big, the image can appear blurry and grainy.
